This campground is poorly maintained. Junk is all over the place, i.e.; old foundation pieces in the grassy areas, old cars, building materials. There are no bathrooms or laundry. There are some seasonal/permanent campers that appear to be poorly maintained. Don't be confused by the flashy web site. The campground is not worth even an over-night stay unless you get caught out in the area with no alternative. On the positive side the owners are friendly and helpful with local tourist info. We only stayed there because we had a reservation based on sight seeing in the area and their web site. Our $20 rate is the Passport America rate and definitely not worth that!
Campground is easy access from I75' Gravel sites which are level and have grass between sites. Management friendly and efficient. 36 cable channels and wireless which worked well. Everything very clean and neat. Ideal for over night or a destination stay. Great place!
Water is full of iron to the point I would not hook to RV. Neighbor told me he had to change his filter every 3 days. Cable was unwatchable. Unless it rains it is extremely dusty when a car passes your site. Would not recommend this park to anyone!
Nice shaded large & level un-paved campsites. Wi-fi available but not on all sites due to distance from office. Facilities were well maintained and laundry available. TV available off the air. Good location for touring the Traverse Bay area. Staff friendly and polite. We had water & elec. only site. We would recommend this campground if in the area.
This is a very nice city park with many full hookups. It is in a good location on the edge of town and is a quiet setting. Sites are good size and many were paved and shaded. TV available over the air. Most sites have to many trees for satellite TV. Staff was both helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice KOA with adequate sized sites. Getting into some of the back in sites is very tight due to bushes and some trees. Sites are gravel and some were fairly unlevel. Only full hookup sites have cable. Wi-fi available to most sites. Staff was friendly, polite and efficient.
Campground is located right on Lake Superior with some beautiful views. Sites are large and either gravel or grass. Most appeared to be fairly level. Water and electric located at opposite ends of site requiring extension cord and hose? If not for the view this would be considered an overnight park only. Staff was friendly and polite.
Nice little park with some sites on the water. We had site 52, a large gravel site which is on the water and we considered the best view in the campground. The park is a good location for day trips to Calumet, Copper Harbor, etc. Many sites are shaded and appear to be adequately. Cable TV was very good! sized. We would stay here again
Park is located on a very pretty lake but you must travel .9 miles down a poorly maintained gravel road to get there. The camground is located within the park such that few sites have a view of the lake. Gravel roads within the campground displayed erosion problems. Restrooms were clean and neat. Campgroubd has a place to fill your fresh water tank and a dump station. Staff is friendly and polite. However, due to the condition of the road(s) and the fact that there is nothing particularly appealing about the campground we would not stay there again.
Park is on the same grounds as the Space & Rocket Museum but a long walk between. Sites are large enough for most RVs and fairly level. Staff was helpful and friendly. Wireless service was being installed when we were there but they weren't sure when it would be available. Park is quiet and recommended for visits in that area of Huntsville.
This is a nice setting on Lake Erie with very nice views. Some sites are full hookup and some are electric only. We had electric only. Site was paved and level with good views. However; Michigan State Parks are not out of state friendly. Our electric only nightly site rate was $22 for the site + $8 for the RV + $8 for the toad = $38 per night + $8 for the reservation. I will never stay in or recommend a state park in Michigan again!
Not a campground per se but a good place close to Cleveland. Sites (full hookup) are for carnival/fairground people but the Fairground people will allow others to use sites when nothing is going on. We found it to be very safe and convenient to Cleveland interests. We would stay there again
